Kellie Martin (born Kellie Marien) is an acclaimed American actor. She has starred in numerous TV series, including "Christy", a comedy about a teenage girl called Christy Huddleston. Her other notable roles include appearing in the titular role in the 'Hailey Dean Mystery' series. Martin, the daughter of a department store buyer and kindergarten teacher, started her career as an actress at age seven when her aunt who served as a nanny to actor Michael Landon's children was able to help Martin land a role in 1981's series "Father Murphy". Following her Yale University graduation, she focused on acting and was able to get major roles on both cinema and television. Martin as well as acting, she is also an accomplished photographer as well as a ballet dancer. Being a mom to two kids, she has been named the national spokesperson for Lupus. She has been spreading the word about the disease since her younger sister passed away in the age of 19.
